PM Wants SEA Games To Be Nationwide Celebration National TV Leaders Need To Step Up Their Game

Sihanoukville: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, has reprimanded the Minister of Information and the manager of the National Television for broadcasting the SEA Games after failing to broadcast the games yesterday. He warns to remove the director general of the national television station if he cannot do this.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Sihanoukville Port, also celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-Japan relations and International Labor Day this morning, May 1, 2023, at Sihanoukville Port, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he wants the SEA Games to be like a national holiday that is celebrated all over the country, alleviating the hardships of people who want to watch the game but are disappointed because the national television does not broadcast the sporting event.

The Prime Minister said: "Broadcast it for fun all over the country! If you do not do anything, you will be fired before 9 pm, tell me."

At the same time, Prime Minister requested private TV stations to broadcast the sports competition widely.
